Curriculum Instruction Guide

Our curriculums are aligned with the New Hampshire State Curriculum Frameworks and based on end-of-year grade level expectations. Each district has its uniqueness, but we all share the same standards of learning.

As a Follow the Child District, the curriculum provides not only for the academic needs of students, but for the personal, physical and social aspects as well, thus educating the whole child.  Integrated within our curriculums are goals for technology and content area reading and writing.  Our goal is to set high standards for all students and to guide them to grow and meet these expectations.

Teachers meet in grade-level and subject-matter teams to determine what is taught at each grade level and in each subject area.  Teams have generated lists of skills and determined when those skills are introduced, developed and (applied) mastered. The next step in the process is to determine essential skills and create curriculum-based common assessments.  The focus shifts from what we teach, to the essential skills students learn.  Team-created common assessments help determine if students are on track, or whether we need to make shifts in our instruction in order for students to master the skills by the end of the year. We use data as a source of conversation and as a foundation for our ongoing discussions around best practices.

The curriculum documents are reviewed regularly to make sure they stay current and accurate. Curriculum documents can be accessed through the links below.
