About the Pre-K Progam

Located at Newington Public School in the beautiful community of Newington, New Hampshire. Preschool-aged students who live in Newington will have an opportunity to attend on a first-come, first-serve basis. Non-Resident students will be considered if there is space in the program.

The PreK Program offers a sensory and language-based experience for our youngest learners with a focus on the development of early literacy skills through play-based approaches and developmentally appropriate activities. Students also participate in unified arts classes such as music, art, STEAM, world cultures, and physical education.

This program is for students who will be entering kindergarten the following school year. Students must be four before September 30th in order to join this program.

From our PreK Teacher Jamie Bastille

My name is Jamie Bastille, and I am so excited to be joining your child's Preschool journey this year! I bring with me several years of experience in the classroom, having taught Preschool, Kindergarten, Second Grade, and worked as a Reading Interventionist.

My passion for early childhood education has grown over the years, and I am thrilled to be working with young children during this important stage of their development. I have a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of New Hampshire and a Bachelor's degree from St. Anselm's College.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in creating a fun, engaging, and supportive environment where children feel safe to explore and take risks in their learning. I believe in meeting each child where they are and helping them build the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my family! I live with my husband and our four wonderful daughters. We love being outdoors, whether it’s skiing, enjoying ourselves at the beach, or exploring trails on the Seacoast. I also enjoy watching and cheering my daughters on as they participate in their various sports.

I look forward to getting to know each child and family this year at Newington Public School.
